Our first family hike of the season.

We hiked three miles up the West Boulder to the meadows. I had forgotten there was a big fire up that way a couple years ago. I hardly recognized the place until we got to the meadows.

Anders didn’t walk enough, so Henry and I were kind of beat at the end of the day. Carrying the boys plus all the picnic supplies, rain gear etc. added up to a bit of weight. Still, spring flowers, saturated colors and a big river made up for the mule-like walking conditions.

Deceptively eager to get walking.

Rigby’s summer haircut. So sweet and so much less stinky.

H isn’t really irritated, he’s just carrying a heavy load.

Finn is not amused by his situation.

H and Anders hiking down to the bridge.

Checking out the river.

Snack break.

River watching.

Violets

Forget me not

Wild strawberry

Diesel LOVES sticks

Clematis

Larkspur

Enjoying the picnic spot.

Caught with our mouths full.

Back at the trailhead.

Must be tiring to ride through gorgeous wildlands all day.
