It’s been a while since I’ve wanted to learn a new sport. I’m just not that sporty. I’m pretty happy hiking and cross-country skiing. I like riding my cruiser bike around town. But recently I’ve been wanting to jump onto a new fad: stand up paddleboarding (SUP).
Finn and I were at the Bozeman Beach last weekend, reading and playing in the sand, when I saw them. Standing on fat, short surfboard-like boards, gracefully paddling across the lake, they looked like they were floating on lily pads. I want to do that.

I’m not going to do anything about it now, but maybe once the austerity measures end, I’ll rent a board and give it a try. It really looks fun on the ocean.
Any paddle boarders out there? Do you love it or is it just ok?
Funny … I was thinking this looks a lot more fun (read: safe) on a lake than it does on the ocean. I’m not quite brave enough either.
It does look incredibly stable on a lake. I didn’t see anyone wet doing it 😉
We tried paddle boarding as well!
