My mom came for a visit and we used the opportunity to take a little trip to Red Lodge. Henry had to work, but the boys and I are always up for a little adventure.
We arrived in Red Lodge around lunch time and headed straight to the Wild Bill Lake Trail. Well, we tried to go to another trailhead, but after we drove down a dirt road for awhile, we discovered the campground was closed. The trailhead is at the other end of the campground and we weren’t sure how far that was…so, plan B.
Wild Bill Lake is small and the trail around it can’t be more than 0.5 miles, but it was lovely. And it was a good hike for Finn, who wasn’t inspired to take a big hike.
After our walk we checked into our favorite Red Lodge hotel, the Yodeler Hotel. I’ve never stayed at another place in Red Lodge, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Still, it does have a steam bath in the shower.
After dinner we took a compulsory trip to the Montana Candy Emporium. The boys had a blast picking out their piece of candy. Oh yes, they were thrilled to get one piece of candy.
And that, my friends, was the first day.
