Mom/Anders day

Every once in awhile we like to split the boys up and give them a day with one parent and all the focus on them. Anders and I spent our day playing outside.

We started off with a ski up West Pine Creek on the east side of the Gallatins. It was super windswept and crusty.

I thought we would spend some time skiing. Anders wants to practice so he can ski the one mile into the Forest Service cabin we rented for early February.

But our morning looked more like this.

Feeling the snow with his face.

At least the hat will still fit next winter.

Rigby enjoys the view into the Gallatin range.

Looking across the Paradise Valley at the Absaroka range on the drive out.

After our “ski tour” we went for lunch and a soak at Chico Hot Springs. For the first time ever, we didn’t see anyone we knew.

On the way home we noticed there was an awful lot of ice in the Yellowstone River. We pulled off at the Mallards Rest fishing access to check it out.

Jen–This is the boat ramp we put in at this summer. Are you up for a winter canoe trip?

Even Rigby is slipping around.

I’m so glad I got to spend the day with such a cool dude.
