On the third day of mom’s magical birthday tour we started the day with a hike to Apikuni Falls in the Many Glacier area.
From there we cruised over to St Mary Lake and made a bunch of stops on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, which was the highlight for mom. She had heard much of the fabled road through Glacier’s interior and looked forward to experiencing it. Since I was there, we had to hike a bit, of course. In total we hiked about 6 miles that day.

Good morning mountains; nice to see you again.

Hello paintbrush. You’re looking lovely this morn.

Apikuni Falls, is that you? You sure are moving today!

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, aren’t we?

You’re even prettier close-up.

Wild Goose Island on St. Mary Lake–one of the most photographed spots in the park. Far be it from us to pass it by.

Sunrift Gorge-another stop on the Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Baring Creek on its way to St. Mary Lake.

Look closely. Jackson Glacier is way out there. It’s one of the 25 glaciers left in the park (there were 150 not that long ago.)

Logan Pass and the boardwalk trail to Hidden Lake.

It was a rather brisk hike.

I do love elephants head flowers.

Hidden Lake–probably one of the most viewed lakes in the park (that you have to walk to.)

Mama mountain goat with her kid.
When we arrived on the west side of the park we took another little hike along the Trail Through the Cedars. It’s kind of dark in there for photos and I only took one, so you can check out cedar photos from our last trip. Just imagine it’s mom in the tree instead of Anders.

Avalanche Gorge on the Trail Through the Cedars.

Wasabi for sushi and Green Tea for breakfast. Whitefish is yummy.
Your nature photography is phenomenal. I have never ever gotten a good nature shot. I finally concluded to just go with it and I only shoot people now.
