After leaving Escondido we went straight to my mom’s house for some grandma fun time. While there we splashed in the pool, played at the beach, celebrated Finn’s birthday (again), celebrated H and my anniversary (3 years W00T!), created artistic masterpieces, enjoyed the company of my little bro, Scott and his girlfriend, Sarah, played with legos and so much more.

My great friend Christine flew down from the Bay Area to see us, but unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures. Fortunately, I had an awesome time reconnecting with her in a non-Facebook venue.

Enjoy the pictures.

Beautiful beach, beautiful ocean, but all eyes are on Finn-beautiful boy.

Anders checks out the waves.

Walking on the beach.

I like to stay fully covered whenever I’m in the sun. A big change from my teen days laying out on this beach. Oh yeah, the kids are cute.

Sand play.

More sand play.

Getting after it.

Watching a seal bobbing in the waves. (The seal bobbed under the water just as I snapped the photo.)

Anders was quite excited to walk under this bridge.

California poppies.

Men and mountains.

Flowers and mountains.

Henry goes for a swim in the very cold, some might say frigid, ocean.

…and he dives under.

Balloon watchers. Anders kept letting his balloon go and float up to the ceiling.

Me and my mom.

Anders, Sarah and Uncle Scott get their volleyball on.

The cake for Finn’s second first birthday.

He’s pretty much an expert cake-eater since he had that cupcake a couple days prior.

Dee lish us

Anders got the red frosting balloon to match his real balloon.

Post cake sugar buzz.

The party crowd.

My mom got champagne so H and I could have an anniversary toast. Cheers! Prost! Salud!

H, me, mom, Scott. Cheers! Prost! Salud!

Anders and mom created a lot of art together.

Now that he’s one, Finn is taking names and kicking a$$. Watch out!

We took advantage of the pool in my mom’s complex. We were in the pool or at the beach everyday of our visit. That’s California dreaming for you. (Except that it was real, not a dream.)

A quick break from laps.

More pictures to come.
